Our Mission

At FellowKitty, our mission is simple yet powerful: to rescue, treat, and protect the most vulnerable feline lives in Sri Lanka. Every day, countless stray kittens and cats suffer in silence on our streets, facing hunger, illness, injury, and neglect. We are here to change that. As Sri Lanka’s first internationally recognized feline welfare charity, we are committed to giving these voiceless souls a fighting chance through rescue operations, veterinary care and rehabilitation.

But our mission goes beyond immediate rescue. We believe lasting change begins with awareness and education. Through our Feline Health Research Program named “Hope for Lives”, community outreach, and school-based education efforts, we work to inspire compassion, teach responsible pet care, and build a future where no cat is abandoned or left behind. At the heart of it all is one unshakable belief: every life matters and together, we can be the difference.

As part of our long-term mission, FellowKitty is proudly working to build the largest dedicated cat sanctuary in Sri Lanka named “FellowKitty Hope House”. This will be a permanent haven for rescued, abandoned, and disabled cats who cannot survive on the streets or find immediate adoption. More than just a shelter, it will be a place of healing, research, education, and love, designed to provide safety, medical care, nutritious food, and emotional rehabilitation for every feline who walks through its gates. This sanctuary will stand as a symbol of “hope”, a promise that no cat will be forgotten again.
